Today’s organizations and projects are becoming increasingly complex, requiring not only Project Managers to have a solid understanding of project management methodologies but also the team members, sponsors, and even the suppliers. Project Management is recognized as one of the fastest growing professions in today’s marketplace. It is rapidly becoming a required knowledge area for career advancement. Many companies, large and small, are coming to the realization that effective project management coupled with team buy-in and executive support is the key to their ability of realizing untapped efficiency and productivity.

This class covers fundamental tools, techniques, and methodologies that effective project teams use throughout the project management life-cycle. This course includes topics such as types of organizational structures, project plan, risk management tools, work breakdown structure, management styles, and types of authority, budget estimation, critical chain and much more. At the completion of this course you will be able to apply practical, basic, project methodologies on your job (e.g. applying the project selection process, determining clear project requirements, creating a project definition worksheet, developing a WBS and schedule, understanding the dynamics of constructing and managing a project team, and much more).

This is an introductory class geared for Project Team Members across all industries, especially those that are in the Product development or IT industry. Class exercises and case studies are used extensively to provide participants with hands-on opportunities with the tools and techniques discussed.
